Pilot Licence Training CD-ROM This computer-based training package is designed to meet the pilot licence theory syllabus requirements of your local Civil Aviation Safety Authority. You can purchase the Private , Professional or IFR Pilot CD-ROM Package of Airs Technologies' Pilot Training CD-ROM The Private Pilot Package is a primary learning aid and covers all Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia Day VFR Syllabus subjects current at the date of printing. The Professional Pilot Pack incorporates additional sections to those in the Private Pack along with chapters covering Instrument Rating Theory and Basic Gas Turbines. No further classroom instruction should be required. After completing the course and passing all the test questions you should have sufficient theory knowledge to pass the examination topics presented. For examination times, dates and venues, contact your local Civil Aviation Safety Authority. How it works: The course comprises three CD-ROM discs. The package consists of 12 chapters for the Private Pilot Pack and 14 chapters for the Professional Pilot Pack. Chapter topics and their sub-sections are listed on pages 4 6. The course has been designed to stimulate your visual and hearing senses. This should assist you in absorbing the instructional material. All topics are presented in high quality graphic form. The visuals consist of photos, cartoons, two-dimensional graphics with movement and three-dimensional animations. This is supported by voice-over delivered by male and female presenters. You also have the option of selecting the text page and reading the text on screen. Study Options The course allows you to work at your own pace and offers you flexibility in the way you study. Firstly, you can navigate through the course from start to finish. This is called the 'Lesson' option and it is the best way to approach the course for the first time. Alternatively, you can browse and select any section randomly. This is called the 'Reference' option and it is useful for revision purposes. If you navigate through the course using the 'Lesson' option, you will take a test consisting of three randomly chosen questions. If you fail to answer all the questions correctly, the program will automatically return you to the beginning of that section. When you have completed the section again, the program will randomly select three new questions. The process will continue until you successfully pass all the questions. If you use the 'Reference' option, you will be provided with test questions at the end of each section, but you will not be automatically returned to the beginning of the section if you give the wrong answer. The program automatically records your test results which you can print out and present to your Flight Instructor so he or she can monitor your progress. After the completion of five sections of any chapter you will be presented with a revision exam consisting of 15 questions covering the material in those previous sections. For these exams your score will be recorded but you will not be returned to any section if you fail a question. Back-up password To assist large institutions to monitor students' progress, every section has been given a password. The password is provided as a back-up in the event that your on-line student records are lost or corrupted. Normally you can log on with just your user name and the program should automatically continue from your last completed section. If the files are lost or corrupted this may not happen. Should this occur you should enter your name and your last given password and the program will begin recording your progress from that point. To avoid the loss of your online student record the program will ask you to print out your progress data when exiting. Security dongle For security purposes, the pack incorporates a dongle. The program will not work unless you plug the dongle into your computer. For PCs, plug the dongle into the printer port. Your printer line can then be plugged into the back of the dongle. For Macs, plug the dongle into the mouse port. Your mouse line can then be plugged into the back of the dongle. Printing worksheets At the end of some sections you can print out the worksheets to assist you with learning. All text pages can also be printed.
